Young Philosophers Club - The Stories We Tell Ourselves

For 7-11 year olds
In these sessions, we will consider the stories we tell ourselves in everyday life — about ourselves, others, and the world.
Through myths, modern tales, and everyday experiences, we may ask: What is a story? What makes a story feel true or compelling? How do our experiences of the world shape the way we think, speak, and construct our accounts of the world?
We may also consider the idea that storytelling is not always about creating fiction, but our way to interpret reality - which can shaped by hidden motivations, perspectives, and relationships.
We may also explore the limits of language— where words may fail to capture experience, and potentially mislead our thought.
This is a space for curious minds to question and reflect on the role of storytelling in everyday life.
The Stories We Tell Ourselves is for 7-11 year olds and will run on Tuesdays on the following dates: 23rd, 30th September, 7th, 14th, 21st October (no club during UK half term), 4th, 11th and 18th November. The club runs from 5.30-6.15 PM UK time each week.
