The Royal Institue of Philosophy  and The Fore are funding, through The Philosophy Foundation, philosophy sessions for young people aged from 11-18. So please check here first to see if you are eligible for free sessions.

Why do philosophy?

Philosophy is a way of thinking about certain subjects such as ethics, thought, existence, time, meaning and value. That 'way of thinking' involves 4 Rs: responsiveness, reflection, reason and re-evaluation. The aim is to deepen understanding. The hope is that by doing philosophy we learn to think better, to act more wisely, and thereby help to improve the quality of all our lives.

What is philosophy online?

Our philosophers run philosophical conversations through online meeting software. You join in with other people your age. The philosopher provides questions and stimuli and you pick them apart, try to answer, listen to others' ideas and draw your own conclusions in a safe online space.

We can also run one-to-one tutoring sessions for those doing RE & Ethics or Philosophy GCSE, or one-to-one sessions without an exam in site!

We aren't currently running these courses but more will be coming soon. If you're interested please email Kim Down, kim@philosophy-foundation.org

Our current courses have finished but more will be coming soon. If you'd like to sign up for weekly sessions please email Kim Down, kim@philosophy-foundation.org

We have some funded philosophy sessions available for teenagers, please see our RIP Funded sessions for more information.
